چکیده

In this paper, we give a sufficient condition for graph choosability, based on Combinatorial Nullstellensatz and a specific property, called “double list colorability”, which means that there is a list assignment for which there are exactly two admissible colorings.

Extended core and choosability of a graph

A graph G is (a, b)-choosable if for any color list of size a associated with each vertices, one can choose a subset of b colors such that adjacent vertices are colored with disjoint color sets. This paper shows an equivalence between the (a, b)-choosability of a graph and the (a, b)-choosability of one of its subgraphs called the extended core. As an application, this result allows to prove th...

3-choosability of Planar Graphs with ( 4)-cycles Far Apart

A graph is k-choosable if it can be colored whenever every vertex has a list of at least k available colors. We prove that if cycles of length at most four in a planar graph G are pairwise far apart, then G is 3-choosable. This is analogous to the problem of Havel regarding 3-colorability of planar graphs with triangles far apart.

k-forested choosability of graphs with bounded maximum average degree

A proper vertex coloring of a simple graph is $k$-forested if the graph induced by the vertices of any two color classes is a forest with maximum degree less than $k$. A graph is $k$-forested $q$-choosable if for a given list of $q$ colors associated with each vertex $v$, there exists a $k$-forested coloring of $G$ such that each vertex receives a color from its own list. In this paper, we prov...

Double-Exponential and Triple-Exponential Bounds for Choosability Problems Parameterized by Treewidth

Choosability, introduced by Erdős, Rubin, and Taylor [Congr. Number. 1979], is a well-studied concept in graph theory: we say that a graph is c-choosable if for any assignment of a list of c colors to each vertex, there is a proper coloring where each vertex uses a color from its list. We study the complexity of deciding choosability on graphs of bounded treewidth. It follows from earlier work ...

Choosability and edge choosability of planar graphs without five cycles
